    Unlike a one-way “show my position” page, this finder reads latitude and longitude for any point: your own (tap the button), any spot on the map (click or drag the pin — the readout updates live), or any address (via the address tool).     Reading signs and hemispheres correctly

    The classic mistake is a dropped minus sign. Positive latitude = North, negative = South; positive longitude = East, negative = West. Buenos Aires is −34.6, −58.4 (south and west); Tokyo is +35.7, +139.7. In DMS notation the sign moves into the letter (34°36'S). If a coordinate you were given lands in the ocean, flipping a sign usually rescues it — try it in the converter, which accepts both notations and shows the point on the map instantly.
