Sunrise, Sunset & Moon
Sun and moon times depend on exactly where you stand. Use your location (or pick any date) to get sunrise, solar noon, sunset, civil dawn and dusk, golden hour, day length — and the moon's phase, illumination, moonrise and moonset. All astronomy is computed locally in your browser.

The times, defined
- Sunrise / sunset: the sun's upper edge crosses the horizon (standard −0.833° refraction correction).
- Civil dawn / dusk: sun 6° below the horizon — bright enough to work outdoors, streetlights toggle here.
- Golden hour: the warm low-sun window photographers chase, from sun-at-6° down to sunset.
- Solar noon: the sun's highest point — almost never 12:00 on your clock, thanks to timezones and the equation of time.
